PLEASE READ AND SIGN REVERSE SIDE PLEASE READ BEFORE SIGNING

Serving on a team is a rewarding, blessing experience. We welcome your application to serve the Lord. Before you make your application to serve, however, please consider the following.

A team is made up of members of the Pilgrimage community whose Fourth Day activities are such that they are able to witness to the pilgrims in talks and table discussions, and are able to pass on the message of Pilgrimage and the Pilgrimage "method" as originally intended by the founders and in accordance with the guidelines provided by the Shenandoah Presbyterian Pilgrimage Secretariat.

A TEAM MEMBER SHOULD:

  1. Be prepared to serve as called. This includes being willing to do a talk, and to serve in the capacity that the Lay Coordinator determines is best for you and is of the most benefit to the team as a whole.
  2. Be physically and emotionally able to participate fully.
  3. Be able to make the required time commitment for team training and preparation, the weekend, and at least the first Ultreya after the weekend. This includes SIX TEAM MEETINGS, the last of which is the "talk overnight", usually a Friday night and Saturday meeting at which all talks are given and critiqued by the team. THIS MEETING IS CRITICAL-ALL TEAM MEMBERS SHOULD MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO BE THERE.
  4. Be active in Fourth Day activities-regular participation in group reunion, Ultreya, community support, and active church membership.
  5. Read and be familiar with the Manual of the Presbyterian Pilgrimage
  6. Be aware of the financial responsibility for a team member-the cost of the weekend ($130 financial assistance is available if needed), purchase of a team shirt, and other incidental costs.

If after considering and PRAYING about the above, you feel called to serve on a team, please complete the reverse side, sign and have your pastor sign, and submit to:
