Lesson Plan: Determining Functions

SOL Objective A.5:
The student will create and use tabular, symbolic, graphical, verbal and physical representations to analyze a given set of data for existence of pattern, determine the domain and range of relation and identify the relations that are a function.
Today's Objective:
The student will determine if a relation is a function when given a set of ordered pairs table of values, a graph or an equation.
Materials:
Power point presentation
Function War Cards
Worksheet on functions
Plans:
1. Teacher will present power point on functions.
2. Students will play Function War
3. Students will complete worksheet on functions.
Assessment Plan:
Students are monitored for understanding during Function War game and the teacher will check the worksheet.
